Friends House is thrilled to announce Kadine Mitchell’s promotion to Chief Operating Officer (COO). With over 20 years of experience in senior living and healthcare, Kadine has dedicated her life to serving seniors and brings an inspiring passion for resident care and operational excellence to her new role.
“I grew up in nursing homes,” shared Kadine. “My mom has been a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 41 years, and I spent my summers volunteering – helping with activities, painting residents’ nails, and simply enjoying time with them. Serving seniors has always felt natural to me, and my entire career has been dedicated to long-term care. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Kadine’s journey to COO reflects her deep commitment to senior living. After joining Friends House as the Director of Healthcare Services in 2023, she led significant strides in associate engagement, clinical outcomes, and customer service. “I’ve always loved operations, but the opportunity to shape strategic initiatives and support the entire campus made this transition to COO a natural next step,” she said.
CEO Philip Burkholder praised Kadine’s leadership, saying, “Kadine has been instrumental in elevating our standards of care and creating a strong sense of community. Her vision and ability to lead with compassion will ensure Friends House continues to thrive.”
Kadine is also a proud member of the State Board of Long-Term Care Administrators, which she considers a defining moment in her career. “Being able to serve the broader community through civic duty has reinforced my dedication to this field and my belief in the importance of providing exceptional care for seniors.”
Kadine’s promotion represents her lifelong commitment to the field of senior living, her passion for fostering meaningful connections, and her drive to inspire others through her leadership.
