Life at Friends House is designed with resident comfort, peace and independence in mind. Our community’s homes are equipped with full kitchens and individually controlled thermostats, ample closet space and balconies or patio gardens. Well-appointed common areas throughout the campus provide welcoming spaces for socializing, and many services are optional.

In addition residents of Friends House have many resources to take advantage of such as:

  • The resident-run Elephant Shop for new and gently used clothing, furniture, and household items.
  • Multiple specialty and to-go dining options at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Beautiful nature trails for birding or a quiet stroll with a friend.
  • Access to the tranquil pond for peaceful relaxation or meditation.
  • Pet-friendly trails and walking paths
  • Raised beds and plots in the two-acre organic garden
  • Trims, shaves and styles at the campus barber and beauty shop
  • Fitness programs, teachers and wellness activities at our fitness room or community center
  • A state-of-the-art business center
  • Resident-run and county rides and transport programs
  • Assistive services including Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing or Short-Term Rehabilitation should you ever need them
We regularly receive visits from families, friends and children looking to learn from our residents.

The care my sister received was AWESOME! She had a terminal illness and was kept clean, up out of bed, dressed and socially engaged as long as possible. The CNAs, nurses, caretakers were kind and caring … I would recommend to anyone living in the area to consider Friends House.

This is without a doubt one of the finest facilities a person could ask for. They have everything you need to exist. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. The restaurant facilities are outstanding. And maintenance is always there when needed.

Our family has had a mom, two aunts, and now another aunt living at Friends House in different stages of care. This is an amazing place, and the care is exceptional.

Living very far away, it is so comforting to know that my mother has the high-quality care of their skilled nursing facility, as well as the support of the community. I love to visit and always make new friends amongst the residents. So many interesting, engaged elders.

The grounds are lovely (fruit orchards), and it has great apartment living for independent living Low key, casual laid back living in a great location.

Our resident-run programs, clubs and activities – such as the Garden Committee, Book Clubs, and tours to sites of interest – are what makes independent living at Friends House so unique and satisfying.
