Higher Levels of Care Are Available to Seniors & Residents at Friends House
Friends House provides our residents with a comprehensive continuum of care that allows them to age peacefully in the comfort of their own community. Accessible on-site therapies and higher levels of support, such as Friends House’s assisted living or skilled nursing, makes transitioning from one level of care to the next easier for seniors with evolving needs, their family members and all involved. By having on-campus services available, our residents’ needs and abilities may change – but their home, neighbors and nearby families never have to.
Most of our residents may ultimately require different levels of care at different points in their lives, including before, during and after major medical events such as falls, surgeries or disabilities. A continuum of care exists to cover all those moments, needs and vulnerabilities and ensure that there are no gaps or blind spots in the treatment of our elders.
Our campus offers as much or as little care as our senior residents need – from basic accessible services to assisted living and support with ADLs, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in our highly respected Health Center – in order to remain independent for as long as possible.
Our Health Center is one of Montgomery County’s top choices for nursing and rehabilitation. Visit our Support page to learn more about Health Care services.

Montessori-Inspired Dementia Care
At Friends House, we embrace the Montessori method in our dementia care practices. This approach focuses on creating a prepared environment that encourages independence, meaningful engagement, and a sense of purpose for those living with dementia. By tailoring our activities to each residents’ individual interests and abilities, we aim to enhance their quality of life for our residents, promoting dignity and respect in all aspects of care.
