The neighbors who volunteer in this thrift shop love the experience of hanging out at a social hub where everyone welcomes customers and donors from all parts of Friends House and the wider Sandy Spring community.
Social Connections and Community Engagement:
All of the residents of our community are members of the Friends House Seniors Association. The Association has over 30 volunteer committees, ensuring that residents have plenty of options for social engagement. Committees coordinate funding and support for gardening, environmental stewardship, evening programs, tours to museums and historic sites, information technology, art-making and art-displaying, woodworking, and much more. Residents who join one or more of these committees need never be lonely. Friends help Friends; our community comes together in fun and laughter.
